Wet n wild lipsticks swatches and review

left to right: Just Peachy, Think Pink, Mauve Outta Here, Sugar Plum Fairy, Cherry Picking

Thailand finally has the Wet n Wild lipstick distributed in drugstores (Eve And Boy especially, and some Watsons), and it is such a pleasure to try all these shades for such an affordable price (139 Thb). These lipsticks are well known to be super long lasting.. And I confirm!

Here are some swatches of the 5 shades I own:

Just Peachy is a nice peachy nude, perfect for an everyday look.

Think Pink is a pinky nude. It reminds me of my favorite Mac lipstick,

Mauve Outta Here is probably one of my favorite shade, as I love "wearable" mauve shades. Perfect for day time or night time.

Sugar Plum Fairy is one of the most famous Wet and Wild shade, as it is considered as a dupe for Mac Rebel.
Mac Rebel is a bit deeper, so you need to build it up a little to get the same shade. Gorgeous deep plum, and I wear it quite often to go out at night, as it stays all night long!

Cherry Picking is a nice bright pink with red undertones.

The staying power of these bright colors is really impressive, it will stain your lips  for the whole day (you will remove it only with waterproof makeup remover).

Give it a try!

Where to buy makeup in Bangkok?

1/ Drugstores: Boots, Watsons, Eve and Boy

Eve and Boy, Asoke

I have a preference for Eve and Boy, as it gathers all drugstore makeup brands in one place, with very interesting deals on some brands you can't find at Boots and Watsons (OPI and China Glaze nail polishes, Real Techniques brushes, Elf makeup).
Otherwise, you will find all regular drugstore brands at very good price: Maybelline, L'Oreal, Revlon, Collection 2000, Essence, Catrice, Kate, 4U2, LA Girl, Canmake...

There are several Eve and Boy stores in Bangkok.

2/ Beauty Terminal at Terminal 21 mall (3rd floor)

Little shop with lot of imported products and 20-30% discount on most of luxurious brands you find at the department store (skin care, makeup, perfumes, nailpolish).
Makeup brands you can find: Urban Decay, Nars, Mac, Physician Formula, Clinique, Lime Crime, Sleek, Sigma, Real Techniques, Rimmel, Barry M, Laura Mercier...
Nail polish brands: OPI and Zoya mainly
You can also find a lot of high end skin care products at discount price (La Mer, Clinique...).

You can find a lot of other stores in this type in different areas of the city, like for example Sun Beauty (BTS Ari, exit 3).

3/ Jae Leng shopping mall, near Don Muang airport (30-40 minute drive from Siam)

Makeup, hair products and perfumes all at 20-40% off compared to department store prices, with some exclusive products.
That's the best place to buy hair salon products at discount price, and drugstore make up at reduced price, including a huge NYX counter with more choice than at the NYX stores in the city. You also have L'Oreal, Maybelline, Revlon. Revlon prices are particularly interesting.
Good discount on products from La Neige as well.
And great choice of nailpolishes from China Glaze, Sally Hensen.

4/ Online shopping: Konvy.com and Luxola.co.th

Konvy is my favorite website to shop makeup and skin care products in Thailand. It has some very good deals and the delivery is fast. Watch out for Mac lipsticks there, they have arrivals pretty often, and the price is the same than in Europe.

Luxola is a more standard website, and prices are good only when there are special discounts on the whole site. Make sure to compare with the store prices because many times it is more expensive. However it carries exclusively some brands, especially Zoeva & Sigma brushes, which are amazing! Check it out!

5/ Small market counters / little resellers

Be careful with the little counters on the markets, a lot of them carry fake makeup. In Thailand, the brands mostly copied are: Mac, Urban Decay (Naked palette), Chanel, Dior.

Just be aware that it is impossible to have real Mac lipsticks at 100-200 THB or a Chanel foundation for 500 THB, or even a Naked palette for 1,000 THB. However, a lot of brands already cheap are not fake on those counters (for example, NYX products can be found in a lot of "street" counters, for a little bit less than at NYX store).
But for sure, you should check in advance the products you are looking for, so you do not get fooled by a fake packaging.
However, some of little stores resell real products at good price (20-30% off compared to the department store). You can find some good ones at the small market next to Central Ladprao, for example, but in general there are everywhere in the city.
If you know some good stores, do not hesitate to leave a comment below :)

More info...

Even with 20-30% discount, the prices of high-end makeup in Thailand will always be equivalent or still a bit higher than in Europe. Indeed, beauty products are taxed 30% when entering Thailand. So I do not recommend to buy at the department store counters or at Sephora. Prices are excessive. Once you find a good reseller / store, try to order through them, many times you can pre-order the products you like from any high-end brand.

I recommend you to check also at airports, especially for luxurious brands where the price difference can be up to 500-600 Thb (Chanel, Dior, Bobby Brown, Nars...)

Enjoy your shopping time!

My 14 best beauty products of 2014

1/ Foundations: Chanel, Chanel, Chanel

Chanel foundations are the best for a natural light-weight finish.
My favorites are the Vita Lumiere and the Perfection Lumiere.

Where to buy in Thailand: Department store, or at the airport for better price (around 1,600 THB)

2/ Concealer: Fit Me from Maybelline

I discovered this concealer this year, and it is my new favorite over any high-end concealer I have. It has great coverage for under-eye circles.

Where to buy: not sold in Thailand or in Europe. You can find it in US or in Dubai (around 300-400 THB, or 10 USD)

I also love the Lasting Perfection from Collection 2000 and the Pro Conceal from LA Girl. And these are all drugstore!!

Where to buy in Thailand: Eve and Boy, Watsons (around 350 THB)

Where to buy in Thailand: Siam Paragon department store (gifts floor), 550 THB

3/ Powders: Laura Mercier transluscent lose setting powder & Mac studio Fix (compact)

I like to use the Laura Mercier one to set my makeup, for a dolly perfect finish. It is super thin and light weight.

Where to buy in Thailand: Department stores, around 1,300 THB, or small makeup resell stores for 30% off

Mac studio Fix is a powder foundation, so I sometimes wear it by itself. Also great to carry in your handbag for touch up.

Where to buy in Thailand: Department stores, around 1,200-1,300 THB, or at the airport for better price (10-20% off)

4/ Bronzer: NYC bronzing face powder in Sunny

Matte, easy to blend, natural tone. This bronzer made me forget my Laguna bronzer from Nars... And it is a drugstore product, again! (less than 10 USD).

Where to buy in Thailand: small makeup resell stores (ex: Beauty Terminal, 3F of Terminal 21), around 300 THB

5/ Blush: Illamasqua powder blushers

I discovered Illamasqua blushes this year too, and I have to say I am impressed. It reminds me of Nars blushes, but with a beautiful scent in addition. These blushes are so buttery and long lasting, I wish I have the whole range of shades.

Where to buy in Thailand: Department stores, around 1,100 THB, or small makeup resell stores for 30% off

6/ Eyeliner: Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner

Well, I have been using ONLY this eyeliner for 2 years now... Super black, easy to apply, long lasting. That's just the best eyeliner ever. What else to say?

Where to buy in Thailand: Jae Leng (near Don Muang Airport), around 600 THB

7/ Mascara: I Love Extreme crazy volume from Essence (pink tube)

just started using this mascara last month... And it already beats all my High-end mascaras I tried in the past. This mascara gives a fake lashes effect that is quite impressive... crazy volume was the right name for it. It is Crazyyy! Essence mascaras are very good in general, too bad that beauty bloggers do not talk about it more often.

Where to buy in Thailand: All drugstores: Eve and Boy, Watsons, Boots (around 200 THB)

This year, I also loved The Rocket Volum' Express from Maybelline: it gives volume and length at the same time. I will re-purchase that one over and over.

Where to buy in Thailand: All drugstores: Eve and Boy, Watsons, Boots (around 350 THB)

8/ Eyebrows: Catrice Eyebrow Stylist pencil & Eyebrow filler

Perfect combination of a pencil and an eyebrow mascara. The colors are perfect, and the price is very sweet:) Again, hands down to drugstore products.

Where to buy in Thailand: All drugstores: Eve and Boy, Watsons, Boots (around 150-200 THB each)

9/ Lipsticks: Lime Crime lipsticks

A Huge discovery for me this year, especially the red shade, Retrofuturist. The perfect red for any occasion, that does not go in the fine line and does not fade. You will not even need a lip liner with that one.
The color selection of this range is crazy, and it is so so so long lasting!

Where to buy in Thailand: small make up resellers, around 700-800 THB

Other lipsticks are fell in love with recently are the Wet N Wild matte lipsticks. If you love plum tones, the shade "Sugar Plum fairy" is a must-have (and is a dupe for Mac Rebel). It is a bit drying (actually like Mac Rebel) but it will stay all day long. For that price (3 USD), it  is simply amazing.

Where to buy in Thailand: Eve and Boy, less than 200 THB

10/ Lip stains: Nyx soft matte lip cream

I wear them everytime I go out! The dark shades are a must have. It is so creamy and stays all night, even if you eat and drink. My favorite lip products of all times!!

Where to buy in Thailand: NYX stores in Central World department store, or in Terminal 21, or small makeup resellers. 295 THB

11/ Makeup brushes: Real Techniques

I could not make an article on the best products of 2014 without mentioning the Real Technique brushes from the Youtuber Samantha Chapman. You can chose any brush from any range, they are all good! Such an amazing quality for the price.
Special mention to the Miracle Complexion sponge, a great alternative for the (expensive) Beauty Blender.

Where to buy in Thailand: Eve and Boy, different sets and individual brushes, from 200-1,000 THB. Can also be found in small makeup resellers & online (Konvy.com for example)

12/ Nail polishes: L'Oreal Color Riche Le Vernis

am still obsessed with these nail polishes. So many shades, long lasting, and small size (I never finish my OPI or China Glaze polishes). The red shades are all amazing.

Where to buy in Thailand: all drugstores: Eve and Boy, Watsons, Boots. 159-199 THB

13/ Face serum: Soap & Glory rejunevating facial serum

I use it every morning before my day cream, and I have almost no break out since I started using it. Its my holy grail skin care product.

Where to buy in Thailand: Boots, around 700 THB (but discounted very often with Boots offers)

14/ Multi-purpose oil: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

For fac, body, hair, nails... This oil is fantastic. It makes your skin glow, and it smells like holidays on the beach. An all time favorite that every woman should own at least once in her life;)

Where to buy: In France parapharmacies for the best price (around 800 THB). It is quite difficult to find in Asia, and very expensive,

Happy New Year  2015!

Treat your nails at a sweet price

I tend to do my manicure/pedicure mostly at home, and I've been trying a LOT of "care" nail polishes like base coats, top coats, cuticle oils in many brands.
High end nail polish brands tend to sell these products at a high price, but I think I finally found my perfect routine, only with products from Catrice and Essence (drugstore brands).

1/ Base coat: Essence studio nails pro white hardener

This base it awesome! You need a tiny bit to do both hands, and it prevents your nails from getting yellow (if like me you wear nail polish all the time... it is a life saver!)

2/ Top coats: Catrice Quick Dry & High Shine, and Essence Gel-look Top coat

For top coats, I tend to use a basic shiny coat for my hands (Catrice), but when I want a gel effect, I use the Essence gel look top coat. This product is the best gel coat I ever tried (although it is quite thick), and I love to use it on my feet. The gel effect stays so long, and looks like to get out from the salon.

3/ Oil drops: Essence nail art Express dry drops

I apply these oil drops on my nails after my manicure, to prevent any damage after I complete it, and it it not completely dry.
I am not sure it really helps the nails to dry faster, but it works perfectly to protect the manicure.
...and he drop pump makes the application super convenient.

Manicure tip

Finally, I share with you a little tip to make your manicure dry faster... I put my nails 30 seconds to 1 minute in cold water (in Thailand, I need to put ice cubes in a bowl, but you can use cold tap water directly). It makes my nails dry super fast compared to any other technique I used before (fan, hair dryer, high speed dry nail polishes, sprays...)

I hope all these little tips help!

Have a nice week

Favorite of the week: Essence "I Love Extreme" mascara

I am currently loving Essence "I love Extreme" mascara... it gives so much volume to the lashes, it is just incredible. And the price is so low that you won't believe it's true... ! It has definitely become one of my favorite mascaras of all times. Actually, Essence has a pretty good range of mascaras.

Just be careful, the brush is quite big, so if you are not used to a big brush, you might need to be careful during your first applications.

One only advice: if you do not have it yet, get it!!!!!!!! It is only 140 THB (or 3EUR, or 4USD)!
You can find Essence products in Bangkok at Eveandboy and some Boots stores.

Favorite of the week: Batiste dry shampoo

If, like me, you do not wash your hair everyday (and by the way, you should really not...), then there is a high chance that dry shampoos become your best friends. It will give your hair a clean fresh look.... and more texture.

Batiste dry shampoos come in a variety of fragrances. I recommend them all, they all smell really good.

Application tip: Shake the bottle very well before each spray, spray 20cm away from your hair...so you will not have a white film on your hair.

For those living in Thailand, it is available at Watsons.
You can also find it on Amazon.com

Favorite of the week: Real Techniques makeup brushes

You still do not know Real Techniques makeup brushes owned by YouTube guru Samantha Chapman? Then if you like to use brushes for your makeup, but do not want to spend hundreds of dollars in a collection, do not hesitate one second: those brushes are high quality & inexpensive (around 10$ per brush).
Theses brushes are simply fantastic.

They are available online on many websites. Check here: Where to buy Real Techniques?
For those living in Thailand, they are sold in many small stores, including Beauty Terminal (3/F Terminal 21)

Also, don't forget to check Samantha Chapman You Tube channel (with her sister), it is simply amazing: Pixiwoo channel

Favorite of the week: Paula's Choice Resist creams range with retinol

Paula's Choice is the brand of the beauty editor Paula Begoun, who is the one who says "Hey, look at what's inside a product before buying it!". She has created her own brand, with fabulous ranges of skin care and makeup, and affordable prices for this quality.

I just realized that I should start to prevent aging on my skin early, before my 30's. I am now using a serum and a moisturizer with retinol, from Paula's Choice Resist.

I apply the serum every night before my night cream, and the moisturizer every morning before my makeup. It leaves my skin so soft & supple. I also use the serum as an eye cream, and it works great! I can already notice I have less fine lines around my eyes.

You can buy her products online from anywhere on hewr official website http://www.paulaschoice.com
(And her website is full of beauty advice, I highly recommend it!)
For those living in Thailand, I recommend to check www.beauty-choices.com

I also totally recommend her book, giving her opinion on all products of major beauty brands: 'Don't go to the cosmetics counter without me.'

And.. Paula's Choice = no testing on animals!

Favorite of the week: L'Oreal Color Riche Le Vernis

Few months ago, I tried L'Oreal Color Riche nail polishes... and they became my favorite nail polishes of all time, even far beyond OPI, Zoya or Essie.
The brush is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It is very large and in one or two swipes, you are done with your nail.

The staying power is very good too. I keep the color on around 4-5 days easily.
I also really love that it is a very small bottle, as I never finish my nail polishes pots otherwise. And... mini bottle also comes with mini-price :)))
One advice: go try it ! There are plenty of shades !

Favorite of the week: Color Change BB Cream

Every week I'm gonna share with you my favorite product.

This week's favorite is the "Color Change" BB Cream from Welcos - a Korean brand. It exists in only one shade (so you can be sure you won't spend 2 hours making sure you pick up the right one)...and it comes out green! Then it adapts to your skin colour when you put it on...
It has light to  medium coverage., which for me is perfect to go work and have a natural and fresh finish. It is very light weight, and so smooth to apply. It is also SPF 25.
Probably my new everyday favorite :)

If you leave in Thailand, you can find it at Boots or from time to time on Konvy.com. Welcos also has other types of BB Cream that are outstanding!
If you do not leave in Asia and would like to buy this cream, message me on my Facebook page Facebook-Beautilista
